Adapting the Role of Executive Assistants to Evolving Professional Demands

In a constantly evolving work environment, organizations face chronic upheavals primarily due to technological advancement and increasing specialization. These transformations have had major repercussions, such as:
Retraining and/or redeployment of skills;
Continuous improvement of professional profiles;
The elimination of certain professions.
This dynamic particularly impacts the role of Executive Assistant, whose traditional role is being redefined under the influence of new expectations and the evolution of administrative practices. Indeed, managers are increasingly taking on their administrative tasks for reasons of time savings and efficiency.
The objective of this research is to explore the training needs necessary to adapt the profile of executive assistants to new professional requirements. More specifically, it aims to answer the following questions:
What training needs must be met to align the skills of executive assistants with current expectations?
To address this issue, this study focused on the executive assistants of the Regional Directorate of the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion (OFPPT) in the Settat region.
Methodology and Areas of Study
The methodological approach of this research is structured around three main axes:
A presentation of the general and theoretical framework of the study, including the field of study, the target population, the OFPPT's strategy, and the research tools used;
An analysis of the collected data;
A conclusion with practical recommendations to strengthen the adaptation of executive assistant profiles to the evolving professional world.
This dissertation highlights the challenges and prospects of a profession in transition, while proposing concrete solutions to optimize the role of executive assistants in a rapidly transforming work environment.
